Jan 9    TAB | North Fork | Leaves from Monclova School at 9:00am. The north fork to Wauseon is 48 miles with varying surface: packed rail bed, single track, sections where the rail bed has been removed, a short spot you must carry your bike, and pavement the last 2 miles into Wauseon. The trail is not technical and relatively easy to ride, but use tires at least 28mm wide or mountain bike tires.

March 27    Michigan Bicycle Summit | Andy Clarke, Executive Director of the League of American Bicyclists, keynotes LMB’s 2010 Michigan Bicycle Summit, with Chris Phelan, founder of the Ride of Silence. Reception Friday night features 2010 Awards for Bicycle Advocate, Bicycle Educator, Distinguished Service and Volunteer of the Year. Summit runs from 9 to 4 on Saturday at Peckham Industries, next to the Lansing airport. Secure indoor bike parking will be available. An optional 20-mile post-Summit bike ride will wrap up the day’s events. This year's theme is “Providing tools for a brighter bicycling future in Michigan.” Choose among 12 workshops, including: Complete Streets; The Ride of Silence; Bikeability Assessments; Bike Shops’ Role in Advocacy; Making Your Tour Accessible to All; and Bicycling and the Law. April 25    SICCO: Spring In Columbiana County Ohio | The route is a flat to rolling 30 mile loop through small towns and beautiful countryside including the Little Beaver Creek Bikeway. There is a snack stop at the gazebo in historic downtown Lisbon. At the end of the 30 mile loop, you will get a delicious Pizza Hut lunch. After refueling, try the optional rolling 25 mile loop for a total of 55 miles. SICCO begins at Firestone Park (Mapquest 347 E. Park Ave., Columbiana, OH. 44408). May 8-9    TOSRV - Tour of the Scioto River Valley | Starting and finishing point is the Ohio Statehouse grounds in downtown Columbus. Tour Registration will be held just south of the Statehouse at the Hyatt on Capitol Square at 75 E. State Street. Since the TOSRV route runs along the Scioto River Valley between Columbus and Portsmouth, our Saturday overnight location, it avoids the large hills of southern Ohio. The first 50 miles south of Columbus include some slight grades, and from mile 50 to mile 65 there are a series of short, steep hills. The remaining miles to Portsmouth are relatively flat for a total of 105 miles for the day. The Tour returns to Columbus on Sunday along the same route. TOSRV is not for the casual cyclist. May 29    JJJ | Jerry's Jeromesville Journey | The ride will start in Oberlin OH at the Oberlin Depot at 8:00am. This is a freebie century through southern Lorain and northern Ashland Ashland Counties.  The route takes us south from Oberlin through some rolling Amish countryside to Jeromesville.  Then it's west on part of the Cardinal Trail to Ashland.  From here, we'll head back home via route 511.  Plan for stops in Hayesville, Olivesburg (for BIG ice cream cones) and Nova to refuel.  It wouldn't hurt to take a Powerbar or two along, just in case.  For those who think 50 miles or so is enough, there's a cutoff at Ashland County Road 500 to accommodate you. | www.LorainWheelmen.org

June 26    Bike to Build | Centreville, MI | 10, 25, 40, 72 miles | Pre-register @ $20/person, $50/family | This is an excellent event for riders of all ability levels! Join us for a tour of the scenic, rural roads of St. Joseph County, Michigan, known as "River Country". All routes begin at the county fairgrounds where ample parking is available. Each rider will pass through the 1887 Langley Covered Bridge on the St. Joe River and numerous other lakes and waterways. Amish farms and conventional farms fill the landscape along the routes. Registration check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. and all riders must begin by 10:00 a.m. Each route is supported by sag vehicles and rest stops with rest rooms and refreshments.
